Our accomplishments

  • Updated Curriculum: Successfully updated the first semester of the curriculum, aligning it with current industry standards and educational best practices.
  • Partnership with WCA: Our strategic partnership with the Woodwork Career Alliance of North America underscores our commitment to enhancing woodworking skills development and maintaining high industry standards.
  • Pilot Program: Launched a pilot program with five participating schools in Colorado, Michigan, and Oregon. These schools are implementing the updated curriculum, providing valuable feedback and paving the way for broader adoption.
  • Teacher Training: Conducted a pilot teacher training program, equipping instructors with the necessary tools and curriculum to seamlessly integrate into their classrooms this Fall.

Though a great deal of work has been done to date, the effort has just begun. The success of this endeavor will depend largely on the commitment and involvement of industry executives and concerned corporate citizens. Help build the bridge to guarantee a successful future for the woodworking industry!

Our future goals

  • Curriculum Updates: Update the remaining semesters of our existing curriculum to ensure comprehensive covers and relevance.
  • Research & Development: Research addtional curriculum models that can enhance our current offerings and better prepare our students for the workforce.
  • Digitize Content: Digitize learning content to provide flexibility and ease of access for both students and educators, enabling dynamic and interactive learning experiences.
  • Funding & Promotion: Secure continued funding to operating expenses and participation in Career and Technical Education (CTE) conferences and events to promote NWB's mission.

In order to fulfill our mission, we need your participation. There are a few ways you can assist in making this vision a reality:

  • Introduce local schools to your business and share the mission of the NWB with them.
  • Donate tax-deductible funds. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Contributions go towards operating costs, travel expenses, and curriculum development.  An invoice can be provided upon request.
